Dantz Retrospect 6.5 for Windows Small Business Server includes some sophisticated features but only entry-level accessibility. Dialog boxes walk you through every backup process-an approach that's comforting at first but will grow cumbersome once you get your sea legs. Retrospect 6.5's interface is minimal, with a set of expandable menus down the left-hand side of the screen, including tabs for Backup, Restore, Automate, and Reports. The software configuration includes the ability to set passwords and schedule regular backups. It's just as simple to identify where to store your backup. With an Explorer-like interface, Dantz Retrospect makes it easy to choose what you'd like to back up, whether it's a shared network folder on a client's computer or local drives on the server hosting Retrospect. Afterwards, it takes you into your first backup job. When you run Retrospect for the first time, it asks you for the product's serial number and offers to register the product. Instant scan would actually be much better if i could set it to ignore certain volumes and keep it scanning only those folders i am backing up, so I think it is already a little too simplified, and I am sure most people here would agree.Best known for its single-PC and small-workgroup backup products, Dantz aims higher with Dantz Retrospect 6.5 for Windows Small Business Server. I just wanted to be clear that removing the disable preference in the future would be the wrong way to go - hopefully you were just saying the process itself shouldn't have to be extensively managed, not that it should be integrated into the program with no options to disable it. Retroisa was running at 1.4Gb (real memory), and i don't have a massive amount of storage hooked up, and also I am only backing up 3 folders right now. We need to keep control over any process that is going to passively take more than 1 GB of real memory to run. Retrospect is too complicated for some user who is used to time machine or some product like that, but it is good for those of us who need to have extensive control over our backups. Anyone who is using your software is most likely technically aware. I strongly disagree that your customers would want that. We have been listening to customer feedback here and through Support, with additional improvements and features planned towards that goal. The battle was also a great propaganda victory for the French, but one won at extraordinary human cost. The battle ended in obvious defeat for the German army, which led to the replacement of the German chief of the general staff, General Erich Falkenhayn. Most units of the French army and many of the German army fought in what was described by both sides as the “hell of Verdun.” Between the battle’s start and the end of August (when the Germans ceased offensive operations), some 281,000 Germans and some 315,000 Frenchmen were killed or wounded. For most of 1916, German and French soldiers fought tooth and nail for a few square miles of terrain around the French fortress city of Verdun, in what was the quintessential “battle of attrition” of World War I. Launched by the German Fifth Army on 21 February 1916, it did not come to an end until the final French counterattack was ended on 19 December 1916. The battle of Verdun was the longest, if not the bloodiest, single battle in World War I. Depending on the size of the organization, the CPO may oversee a purchasing department that includes purchasing managers, directors of purchasing, contract administrators and purchasing assistants. Some procurement departments have hundreds of employees across the globe, while smaller departments may have only a handful of staff members. While CPOs are considered procurement leaders, they should be able to work collaboratively and across various functional areas, too. Also, more than eight years of experience in a leadership or procurement type of role is required.Īdditionally, the CPO is expected to have experience working in purchasing departments and should be skilled in strategic sourcing, decision-making, project management and negotiation, as well as cost and price analysis. For example, for one of its job postings, lists the minimum requirements of a CPO position to be a bachelor's degree and preferably a master's degree. The CPO is expected to have, at a minimum, a bachelor's degree in a business or finance discipline, although many organizations also require the CPO to have a master's degree in business, finance, procurement or supply chain management. What training is required to become a chief procurement officer? For example, while setting up a procurement strategy for a company that represents sustainability and green practices, a CPO should take that into account when researching suppliers. Besides the dollar amount and quality, a CPO should consider other factors as well. While developing a procurement strategy, a CPO should ensure that it is aligned with the business goals and strategies of an organization.

However, if you’re someone who does like the empire management aspect, you’ll feel the same sense of despondency. Those who loved the RPG concepts may be disappointed by this iteration. You play as the ruler of a faction, not as a vagabond or a retainer looking to make a name for yourself. There are two kinds of Romance of the Three Kingdoms players. The remaining “general” and “attainment” events were purely generic “develop a city” or “defeat your rival” affairs. Even other notable rulers such as Ma Teng, Gongsun Zan, Yuan Shao, Yuan Shu, and Liu Biao got shafted. ![]() Not a single one was tailor-fit for Lu Bu be it historical or ahistorical events. To my surprise, all the events in the “Warlords” scenario focused on the exploits of the leaders of the Three Kingdoms (Cao Cao, Liu Bei, and Sun Ce/Sun Quan). The novel details many of his exploits such as attempting to arrange a marriage between his faction’s and Yuan Shu’s, allying with Liu Bei only to betray him in the end, being cruel to his subordinates, the flooding of Xiapi, his pleas for mercy as he was about to be executed, and Cao Cao’s recruitment of the brave Zhang Liao. Historically, Lu Bu was part of a three-way battle for Yan Province his rivals were Cao Cao and Liu Bei. While seeing their respective requirements/event triggers and dialogue can be a welcome sight, many of these events are for the main faction leaders.įor instance, I played the 194 CE scenario (“Warlords”) as Lu Bu, known as the mightiest warrior in China at the time. Historical scenarios are accompanied by a short cinematic giving you a backdrop of the current situation. Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV still has numerous scenarios for you to pick starting from the battles between the Han Dynasty and the Yellow Turbans to the rise of Sima Yi and the foundations of the Jin Dynasty. Set during the waning years of the Han Dynasty, it tells the tale of rival warlords, heroic feats, amazing duels, dastardly plots, mysticism, and larger-than-life characters. All are very strong reducing agents that form binary compounds with most nonmetallic elements and even some other metals that have higher electronegativity. The electronegativities of these metals range from about 0.8 to slightly over 1.0 (except for beryllium, which has an electronegativity of 1.6). Moreover, lime is still produced by heating limestone, and the quantity produced is enormous.Īs a result of the decrease in ionization potential, the reactivity of the metals in Groups IA and IIA increases in progressing down in the group. These compounds have been important for thousands of years and they still are. Lithium carbonate is the most important industrial compound of lithium and is the starting point for the production of most other lithium compounds.Ī This is the radius of the ion having the charge equal to the group number.Ī large number of compounds of the Group IA and IIA metals occur naturally (salt, soda, limestone, etc.). The chapter also discusses the methods of production of alkali metals. One of the most remarkable features of the alkali metals is their ready solubility in liquid ammonia to give bright blue, metastable solutions with unusual properties. All the alkali metals have characteristic flame colorations because of the ready excitation of the outermost electron, and this is the basis of their analytical determination by flame photometry or atomic absorption spectroscopy. The chapter illustrates the atomic, general, physical, and chemical properties of alkali metals. Lithium is harder than sodium but softer than lead. All elements are silvery-white except cesium, which is golden yellow in color. The group 1 elements are soft, low-melting metals that crystallize with bcc lattices. This chapter discusses the discovery, isolation, abundance, and distribution of the alkali metals-lithium, sodium, potassium, rubidium, cesium, and francium.
